Sailing at high latitudes involves enormous challenges. The southern seas are extremely harsh and the weather is hostile, but the reward offered by nature to those who dare is monumental.
For this reason, we are extremely careful in the planning and preparation of each voyage. Our skippers are world-class professionals with extensive polar and ice-navigation experience, and the boat was designed for safe and comfortable navigation in the southern seas.

How long is an Antarctica sailing expedition?
Each scheduled Ushuaia–Antarctica–Ushuaia expedition lasts 19 days and covers approximately 1,700 nautical miles. Routes remain subject to weather, sea and operational conditions.
How many people are on board?
Terra Incognita expeditions are limited to eight people on board, creating a small-group, hands-on sailing experience.
Do guests participate in sailing the yacht?
Yes. Within each guest's abilities and under crew instructions, guests participate in maneuvers, watches, meal preparation and care of shared spaces.
Is personal travel insurance required?
Yes. Every traveler must present personal insurance covering medical expenses and evacuation, transfer or repatriation before boarding.

El Coronel is a 15-metre steel-hulled expedition yacht with a reinforced bow and rigging, polar insulation, dual heating, three double guest cabins and high-latitude navigation and communications equipment.
